I am not usually the one who likes the cold weather but I can't deny that when the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and the snow is crunching beneath your feet while you're out for a walk, it's pretty amazing. A beautiful swedish winterday. At least when you're in the right type of clothing, so layer up and get out there, start enjoying the day!
We're social distancing as much as possible, and staying out of the more crowded areas of the city, so going for a bit of a walk in the countryside is a perfect way to get some sun. I do admit that I am not much of an outdoorsy type but even I can enjoy a bit of a walk on a day like this.
Are you enjoying the colder weather?
I know that you're not supposed to go out for a drink right now in Stockholm due to the pandemic, and I am not encouraging that at all, that's not the point of this post. All restaurants and pubs are closing by eight o clock and I can only imagine how hard that must be on the economy. I just want to give a bit of a shoutout to a few of my favorite places in Stockholm when it comes to cocktails, just to say "hey, even though Covid will not let us visit you right now, we have not forgotten you".
When I think of summer in the city center of Stockholm, I think of outdoor seating, people-watching, and having a great cocktail. But as of right now, we can only dream - so maybe this post can help you keep that dream alive!
A lot of Swedes travel to the northern parts of Sweden during the winter for some alpine skiing, cross country skiing, hiking, or some other mountain and wilderness activity, so to start this year off we thought we'd try it out... well, not the skiing or the hiking, but at least we'll try out the cabin-living in the winter-wonderland. I will stretch as far as go sledding, but that's as far as I'll go when it comes to sports. Hot chocolate and a warm fire, that's more me.
I'll check back in in a while, with some more info, details, and lots and lots of images, but until then - stay safe, and stay warm!
