I know that you're not supposed to go out for a drink right now in Stockholm due to the pandemic, and I am not encouraging that at all, that's not the point of this post. All restaurants and pubs are closing by eight o clock and I can only imagine how hard that must be on the economy. I just want to give a bit of a shoutout to a few of my favorite places in Stockholm when it comes to cocktails, just to say "hey, even though Covid will not let us visit you right now, we have not forgotten you".
When I think of summer in the city center of Stockholm, I think of outdoor seating, people-watching, and having a great cocktail. But as of right now, we can only dream - so maybe this post can help you keep that dream alive!
You all know that we love tapas right? And if there is a place nearby that serves tapas when we're going out for dinner, that's where you'll find us. So it might not come as a big surprise that this is my absolute favorite local restaurant, hands down the best!
The restaurant is located in the harbor in Nynäshamn, which is about 5 miles from the city center of Stockholm, Sweden. So it's a perfect place to hang out for that movie set feeling in a small town. You know the feeling of the small red boathouses, the smell of fish and the sounds of seagulls, that's Nynäshamn.
The restaurant has an outdoor seating area, on two stories, that both overlook the ocean. During the summers you can enjoy their balcony area that's right next to the sea, and be closer to the sangria-bar. Of course, they have an indoor area as well, but that's a bit smaller, so if you're going there for a meal or a glass of Sangria during the colder seasons you might want to call ahead and book a table to make sure they are able to seat you.
And for the holidays, you can actually order a Spanish Christmas platter with home delivery, how great is that? But if you're not into that, and just want your regular tapas menu, they'll deliver that as well. If you want to check out their menu, you'll find it at Flamenco.se. We have been at the restaurant a few times, and have had deliveries on a few occasions and I'll tell you this - we've always been very pleased with their great food, so they have our recommendation!
Who's with me for some tapas?
It was a magical night ... outdoor seatings with a view overlooking the ocean as the is going down. It's that kind of place that you see in the movies, you know the one where they show the perfect first date. That movie could have been shot at Nåttarö Krog.
Their menu changes with the seasons, during the summer there are more choices, but as they only have open during the weekends in the autumn the menu is a bit smaller. They close for a few months and then open back up for Christmas. The menu does not much though, and I can still see some of my favorite dishes hanging on throughout the colder days. I ordered the fish and it was oh so good, I do recommend it if you are into fish that is. The boys had their meat, of course, a Bookmakers toast and a fillet of beef, whilst Angelica did what I always use to do and ordered the pasta. And yes, as you can see on the images, we started out with a platter of fresh and cured meats and cheese, and an Irish coffee. Maybe a weird combo, but it worked.
