    Review of 2023

We started the year 2023 with a weekend at our friend’s house on the outskirts of Borås, where we spent New Year’s with great food, wine, and laughter. Quite a good way to start the new year, don’t you think? But other than that, January was spent mostly at home. In late February we went back to Bologna in Italy for the second time. It’s a fantastic city and I don’t think I’m lying when I speak for the both of us, we would love to go back again. March is a busy month for us, workwise, but at the beginning of April, we headed off for a weekend in…

    A second impression of London…

I feel like I should be in that Alanis Morrisette song, Head over Feet, that goes “You’ve already won me over in spite of me”… but no, London really didn’t win me over. It is a pretty amazing city, and some parts of it I really enjoyed, but the overall vibe is a bit too much for my taste. I would say that it moves too fast. The city is vibrant and colorful, the people are super-friendly and I do love all of the art. But still… I can’t quite keep up the pace. It’s quite an unpopular opinion right? The one thing I did enjoy the most besides the…

    We’re going back to London

Yeah I know, I have said it and I know it so don’t come for me! London is not my favorite destination, and I really did not think that going back to the city was in the cards me, atleast not so soon. If you can actually call it soon when you haven’t been to London since 2016? But this will be the first family vacation we’ll go on in five years time. So get to bring the kid, who’s not really a kid anymore, but anyways… he’ll be going with us on this trip, and he wanted to see London. So London here we come! 😀 We would love…

The Museum of the Order of St John

According to me, this was totally the best part of our weekend in London. You know I love finding little museums regarding the order of St John, thats somewhat of a passion of mine. I could go on and tell you about the order, but I wouldnt know where to start and defenatly not where to stop. I do belive that I’ve told you about the reenactment we do during the summers and especially during Medieval Week in Visby, Gotland. You find bits and pieces of St John all over the world and when you know what signs to look for, or what to google, you might find history from…

    Architecture in London

In my last post reguarding Lonon, I was quite harsh about my feelings towards the city and me kind of not liking it. And that’s my overall feeling after my first weekend spent in UK, ever. But I do love the arcitechture and the cities uniqe structures, and I just had a fever – I was not blind. The buildings in the city are really amazing, and one of my absolut favorites are the details on St Paul’s cathedral. Do you have a favorite part of the city or a favorite building in London?

    The airport-feeling

Don’t you just love that feeeling, when your luggage is checked in and you’re past security. You have about an hour to do nothing but airporting. I dont know if that’s a word, but I’m sure it’s a thing. Airporting, for me, is having a drink of choice and peoplewatching. Or browsing the taxfree stores. Maybe having a cup of coffee, reading a good book.So tell me, what’s your favorite thing to do while airporting?

    London

Its seems like Iv’e been to quite a alot of places that was not really on my bucket list. London is one of those places. I’ve heard so many people saying that they just love London, and it’s not that cant see why… but I just dont. I liked it just fine, but it’s a favorite of mine.  Maybe is has to do with the fact that I was running a high fever during most of the trip, but I shake the feeling that London is not a city that keeps me wanting for more. There are so many other cities in Europe that I would rather revisit again. But with…
