Amsterdam
I was in Amsterdam a few years ago for a weekend to work with a designer, to shoot her latest collection of clothings. I can show some the images later on from the different shoots, if you’d like.
One of the themes was actually shot in Red Light District. Weird wacko and cool at the same time. People are earning their living, selling their bodies as families of tourists walk by on their stroll down the street to the local church.
So, moving on. Amsterdam has some beautiful arcitecture. The old buildings, canals, parks everywhere. And bikes. Lots and lots of bikes.
It was a great experience in a cool city. But I feel like my packed schedule for the weekend made me miss out on quite a lot of the culture and scenery. Maybe one day i’ll get to go back, not just to see more of Amsterdam but to travel across the Netherlands.

Jag önskar bara att jag sett mer av staden när jag ändå var där, men det får nog bli ett senare tillfälle =)
Har du några tips på vad man kan göra/se när man är där?

jag var bara där några dagar, vi gled bara runt o njöt av staden! så himla fint där. har inga speciella ställen, tycker bara det är så mysigt med vattnet som rinner mitt i stan osv. sen vill jag också säga att jag inte tkr man ska stötta red light district genom att ens gå dit (vilket jag gjorde som 20åring) hoppas det läggs ner!

Jag förstår din känsla, det är en knepig grej att se människor försörja sig på det sättet. Nu är det ju ett par år sedan jag var där, men vad jag förstod då, så var det en jättevanlig grej – speciellt för studenter, och speciellt studenter från andra länder, att de valde att hyra ett rum istället för att skaffa sig studieskulder.

We had a trip to Amsterdam planned at the end of our volunteer activty from France, but with all this world mess we had to cancel out plans … and the meanie at the accommodation refused to give us our money back. So it’s made me not want to visit!
