Gin tasting at The Wild Yarrow Bar & Bistro
The last time we visited Edinburgh we went on a whiskey tour, so this time it was a Gin tasting that was on our menu. Our good friend Seb that lives in Edinburgh helped us to set up a Gin-date with the The Wild Yarrow Bar & Bistro.
You all know I’m a sucker for a good Gin and tonic, but this was not just a GT… This was Gin served with a history lesson and a twist of charm, brought to you with a special selection of tonics and a smile.
The owner of the bistro and our tourguide for the day through the history of Gin, was totally amazing. He was the teacher you wished you had in school, cuz if you did, you would actually both listen and learn. I am not gonna spoil the Gin tasting for the rest of you by giving up the content, but I assure you, if you contact them for a Gin tasting – you will not be disappointed.
Of all the great Gins we tried, I dont think I can pick one favorite but I can narrow it down to two. The Monkey 47 and McQueen. They were both really unique and I am gonna try my best to find them here in Sweden, and if I dont, I’ll just have to go back to Scotland…
The Wild Yarrow Bar & Bistro is located right at the heart of the old town Edinburgh, just ten mintes walk from the Edinburgh castle. They are to be found both on Facebook and Instagram, check them out!
