Croatia - Rijeka

Walk with me in Rijeka

The first morning in Rijeka started with a walkabout that gave me blisters that lasted the entire trip, but that’s not at all to blame on the city, I just wanted to wear my new shoes that made my feet look pretty.

Such a girl for choosing those shoes, right? I don’t usually wear shoes like that on a trip, and never ever new shoes, but that gave us a reason to stop a lot, to sit down for a coffee, have lunch, get some mojitos, and last but not least – some wine to keep us company as we watched the sunset. The city center is not that big, which is where we stayed and explored. You can easily get around in a few hours, and in that time you’ll pass churches, the main shopping street, cute back-alleys, the harbor area, and the huge marketplace with fish, meat, fruits, and veggies. And if you just stop once in a while you’ll see a wild variety of amazing buildings with stunning architecture and a pop of yellow. It truly is a unique city.

This was the first time ever that I visited Croatia, and the city of Rijeka left we wanting for more, so I am definitely not opposed to going back.
have you ever been to Croatia?
