Great spots for food in Karpathos

Well, I have most of my recommendations for places to eat in Karpathos in Pigadia, or Karpathos town as we have heard it being called. But we did visit the nearby village Amoopi as well, so our favorites for the cutest beach town ever are also in the mix. At the bottom of the post, you will find some honorable mentions, and recommendations for bars, coffee shops, and cute places.


Greek salad, some wine, and a plate of mixed grilled meats @ Mama Maria Restaurant. Don’t you just love the little blue decanter that we got served with wine? So cute!

Souvlaki on the beach @ Seaside Karpathos is the perfect way to have lunch! You stay on their beach beds by the ocean for 10 euro per day, then just head up the stairs for some lunch or maybe a cocktail.


We started with sharing some dolmades for starters and had lamb chops for the main course @ Ladokolla Karpathos. Great food, but the really great part was that it was okay to share our leftovers with the cats!


We had a lot of really great food @ Island Pool Bar Restaurant, we stayed by the pool for several days so we did manage to try quite a few of their dishes. And to be completely honest, they had the best tzatziki we had during our entire stay on Karpathos. We tried pasta, gyros, a club sandwich, and their Angus burger, all amazing! And the sunbeds were free… nope, it does not get any better than that!

Pizza @Uno Pizzeria and Restaurant. We loved this place, they did not serve tzatziki with their pizza so when we asked for I they ran to the restaurant next door to get some, how awesome! The pizza we had was half and half with Greek and Special with bacon.


Pastitsio and Gyros with Pita bread @ Taverna Votsalakia. And yes of course – ouzo!


Soutzoukakia and tzatziki @ Posidon Restaurant. You try saying Soutzoukakia three times really fast?

And as always we have a few honorable mentions that are more for breakfast, coffee, cocktails, or maybe some snacks. One of the best things we tried during our trip to Karpathos was the Ouzo Milkshake at Skala near the beach of Amoopi, and to be completely honest – neither one of us had tried anything like it!
