Italy - Turin

We spent a weekend in Turin

We have quite recently been in the city of Turin, which is in the northwestern parts of Italy, in the region called Piedmont.

The city of Turin is mostly known for its Fiat cars, Juventus FC, chocolate, the Olympic games, and their collection of Egyptian artifacts. But if we’re being really honest, that’s not really why we were there… we were just in for a weekend to visit some local trattorias to enjoy the cuisine. We went on a few walks passing the sights, found some small cozy corners that were perfect for people watching, and enjoyed a glass of wine – or two.

Usually, I book accommodations really close to the city center just to make sure that you are close to everything that you want to see. And that’s honestly what I thought I did, but upon arrival … or rather upon the first day of walking, we kind of got the surprise that we were more off-center than I thought we would be. And it’s not like it’s my first time booking a room, so that’s not an excuse… but it’s safe to say that we got our steps in for the day 😀 Anyway, we had a cute little Airbnb with a loft, a small kitchen, and a sofa bed. Pretty perfect for the four of us.

I would say that a weekend in Turin was just perfect. I am sure that you could spend more time if you wanted to, but a weekend seems to be sufficient in time.

It might be that it was kind of off-season but I found the prices to be really affordable, not only for the flight and the room but for the living expenses as well. So would I go back, or recommend ya-all to go? Sure thing, on both accounts.
