    Bratislava

I am sure the city has changed a bit since we had our weekend in Bratislava, hopefully, for the sake of the people. It was quite a strange feeling walking around the city, sometimes it felt like I was visiting two differient cities. There were a lot of resturants and big grand shoppings centers for the blooming tourism, right next to the half torn buildings and old department stores filled with durst, right next to beautiful old buildings filled with Christian Dior and Donna Karen. It was quite an experience to visit Bratislava, mixed feelings for sure. I dont think I would want to go back. It´s like when you…

    I booked a christmas trip…

… to Madeira. We’ll be spending our christmas eve on the portuguese island in the atlantic ocean. Merry christmas to me right? I have only spent the christmas holidays abroad once before, but I was really young at the time so I hardly remember. Its one of those memory fogs where I cant tell if I actually remember, or if its the old photographs and the stories told about them that I remember. You know that feeling?

    Bunny-hop or bar-hopping?

I wish I could tell you that this is just Angelica goofing around, but this is kind of her everyday state of mind when we are exploring new cities in foreign countries. This is her, enjoying a broken kinds toy in one of the most fantastic ruinbars in Pest. I’m gonna give you some more information bout that bar, but that really deserves a whole new post, so I’ll get back to you on that. With this post, I just wanted to wish you all a good friday and a great weekend!//Ann

    The airport-feeling

Don’t you just love that feeeling, when your luggage is checked in and you’re past security. You have about an hour to do nothing but airporting. I dont know if that’s a word, but I’m sure it’s a thing. Airporting, for me, is having a drink of choice and peoplewatching. Or browsing the taxfree stores. Maybe having a cup of coffee, reading a good book.So tell me, what’s your favorite thing to do while airporting?

what to wear in Prague during the spring

So, to all of you that are planning on visiting Prague the upcomming spring, this once’s for you. As you can see, it looks like the nights in Prague during March is quite cold, right? Wrong. Well yes, the nights are cold, but so are the days. I just packed a small lether jacket and a poncho. I wore the jacked during the days, and the jacked with the ponch ontop during the nights. But in hindsight, packing a few knitted sweaters wouldnt have killed me. So my advice is, dont be affaraid to go a bit heavy on the clothings, cuz there’s something really special about having a hot…

My best tip for a great autumn – staycation

Yes, staycation is actually a thing. It’s a play on words, two words combined into one. The expression was founded back in the year 2008 in USA because of the economical crisis, that made the gasprices increase way above the normal so a lot of people couldnt afford to go on their regulare vacation. Nowadays the word is used casually, it doent mean you have to stay at home, but close to home.So my best tip for a great autumn, go on a staycation. – Pack a bag, and check in to one of your close by hotels for the weekend. There are lots and lots of great and not that…

    The first snow

The first snow fell today, well there was some during the weekend as well, but not like this. Today is the first day I wake up and there’s snow on the ground. So winter is not just coming, it’s here. I dont really mind the snow anymore, I use to but nowadays I kind of like it. If I could choose I would take away some of the cold, but since I cant I rather try to see the beauty of it. How about you, do you enjoy the winter? //Ann #travelblogger #traveling #nouwautumnchallenge

    Gin & Tonic with Cucumber

Have you ever tried a Gin & Tonic with Cucumber? After devouring gin and tonics in Budapest I found a great recipe online that I modified a bit so I thought I’d share it with you:Ingredients: 50-60 ml gin ice cold tonic water 1 lemon sliced into wedges 4 strips fresh cucumber ice Instructions: My personal favorit is to squeeze the lemon on the topedge of glas, it gives the drink some more sourness and freshness. Pour the gin into two glasses then top with a wedge of lemon and two slices of cucumber. Add the ice then pour over the tonic water. Squeeze in a little more fresh lemon juice…
